2nd Hayaam Bellydance Theatre Show
The event: Belly Dance Theatre Show featuring Hayaam, students plus special guest belly dancers and musicians: Guy Schalom and Baladi Blues Ensemble, Emma Chapman, Caasi, Elis Pinheiro, Natalie Borg and Sarasvati. Also Zara’s Zouk will be selling Egyptian belly dancing costumes and accessories!
Date: 23rd March 2013
Time: doors open at 7:20pm. Show starts promptly at 8pm.
Venue: Sarah Siddons Theatre, City of Westminster College, Paddington Green, W2 1NB (near Edgware Road, Paddington and Marylebone Stations).
Ticket: discounted ticket online £18 until 22nd March, £20 at the door. No tickets will be issued. Please bring your Paypal receipt. Seats are not numbered and work on first come first served system so please arrive in good time to guarantee good seats.

Guy Schalom & Baladi Blues
Guy Schalom and his ensemble, Baladi Blues, will be playing live at our Theatre Show.
“Guy Schalom has over 20 years’ musical experience. He appears internationally with a host of recording artists and world class dancers performing many varied styles of music. He also leads his own bands including the acclaimed Baladi Blues Ensemble. ”
He has recently taken part of the “Bellydancing and the Blues” documentary at BBC4. You can listen to it on BBC iplayer radio
“Urban Egyptian dance music at its best! Soulful accordion and saxophone improvisations energised by powerful Arabic percussion - all presented with a charming and enigmatic stage presence. In the Baladi Blues Ensemble, Guy unites three of Egypt’s most renowned master musicians: saxophonist Ahmed El Saidi, quarter-tone accordionist Sheik Taha and master percussionist Hassan Reevis. The band is joined by frame drum wizard Adam Warne on percussion.”
Caasi
Caasi is a London based bellydancer who also travels all round the UK and abroad to perform at every kind of event; from festivals and concerts to weddings, birthday parties and beyond. She started her career as a professional contemporary dancer before being lured into the sparkly, exotic and beautiful world of bellydance, and has never looked back! In 2011 she was delighted to be crowned 2nd place winner of The Miss Bellydance UK competition.
Emma Chapman
Emma Chapman is one of the few full-time professional bellydancers in the UK , specialising in Egyptian bellydance. Based in Cambridge , she teaches classes and workshops at major festivals and is renowned for her precise technique and warm, friendly teaching style. She is an accomplished entertainer and her love and feeling for Egyptian music is obvious to all who have seen her. Emma began learning in 1998 and continues to train with top dancers from around the world, constantly seeking inspiration to keep her dancing fresh and exciting.
Elis Pinheiro
Elis Pinheiro is a professional Bellydance teacher, performer and choreographer from São Paulo – Brazil, currently living in the United Kingdom. More than 11 years of experience. Teaching all over Brasil since year 2005. Studied Motor Coordination from Béziérs and Godelieve Dennis Stuif methods at Ivaldo Bertazzo School, São Paulo-Brazil, between 2004 – 2006. Bachelor Degree in Dance and Movement from Anhembi-Morumbi University, São Paulo/Brazil, in 2005. Runned her own dance studio (Sao Paulo, Brazil) from 2006 to 2012. First DVD in 2010: Modern Techniques for Bellydancing. Second DVD on 2012: ARMS: Exploring all the Beauty, Strength, Fluidity and Precision. Both of them a partnership with Tony Mouzayek, a pioneer in Arabic music in Latin America. New website coming on 2013!
Eva
Éva, aka Whirling Wizzard, is the foremost female turner in the UK. She’s an initiated Mevlevi dervish and the only turner in the world who regularly practices all three forms, tanoura, Mevlevi and free-style turning of which she calls her own version ‘neo/n sufi’. She’s been performing for two years and has recently started instructing. There’re a number of other turning projects in the pipe-line, if you’re interested, please follow her on the facebook page Whirling Wizzard and The One Dance.
Natalie Borg
‘Natalie Borg is a JWAAD teacher having run her FAB Bellydance classes in Hampton Hill and is also the founder of Arabesque Nights – West London’s Bellydance Cabaret Show. She is also a former member of multi-award winning ‘Egyptianize Dance Company’.
Sarasvati
Sarasvati is a passionate about the art of Oriental dance. Her journey with belly dance started 5 years ago when she was introduced to traditional Egyptian dance and since then she has completely fall in love with this beautiful art. Apart from traditional Egyptian, Sarasvati have enjoyed performing Turkish, Gypsy as well as Iraqi style of dance which reflects through her originality and creativity. For Sarasvati Oriental Dance is way of empowering and reconnecting with yourself and others and she would like to thank all the teachers and people who have supported her so far through this amazing journey
Hayaam
Natural talented belly dancer and teacher, she is Brazilian born from Sao Paulo. Constantly developing her technique and skills, she is always looking for a new challenge and creating her own belly dance style. Her mission is to make belly dance respected like ballet, flamenco and other types of dance. She is a hard work and committed dancer, teacher and belly dance promoter. Her mains style is Egyptian, characterised by delicate and charming movements with strong shimmies.
