Be enchanted and empowered by the exotic Art of Belly Dancing!

Beginners

The beginners class, as it says, is for absolutely beginners, no experience is required.

You will learn technique, combinations and the basics of belly dance. We are going to start from scratch and develop muscle strength for belly dancing, all belly dance moves will be broken into steps for easier understanding and learning. The classes will build up week by week.

Classes can be taken as a course or on a drop in basis as this is an open level.

Improvers

This class is for students who have little bellydance experience (up to six months) and took the beginners course. You will learn technique as well as choreography. Classes can be taken as a course or on a drop in basis as this is an open level.

General

This is a class for beginners or anyone who has little bellydance experience (up to six months). You will learn technique as well as choreography.

Classes can be taken as a course or on a drop in basis as this is an open level.

Elementary

This class is for students who have learnt the basics of belly dance but need practice to the make the movements more fluent.

This class is suitable to anyone who wants to brush up techinique and who has up to one year of experience.

It's not suitable for beginners.

Private Tuition

If you always wanted to try belly dance but you prefer private tuition, please contact me. I can offer affordable rates.

Frequently Asked Questions

What to wear to class

Wear clothes that you can move around in easily, with either bare feet or flexible soled dance shoes, ballet shoes is fine. Leggings are better than a skirt for class-wear because it helps me see what your legs are doing. You also may wear a crop top as it makes easier to see waist movements. You can bring a hipscarf (optional) to tie around your waist - this accentuate the movements and act as a learning aid. Some people like to buy a hipscarf decorated with "coins" after a few lessons, as these are fun to wear and are useful for helping you "hear" the moves you make.

Health issues and pregnancy

If you have any health issues and/or if you are pregnant please consult your GP before attending belly dance classes.

Class - arriving late

Please do not to arrive late as you will miss the warm up which is important to prevent injuries.

How long does it take to learn belly dance?

People have different learning curves. Some people will learn faster than others. Some people will practice more than others. Some people will be taking belly dance classes for 6 years but practice one hour a week. Some people will be taking belly dance classes for 3 years but will be practicing 10 hours a week. Some people will have experience in other dance forms. Some people will have never tried any kind of dance before.

You will not be a belly dancer after just 6 weeks training. Our classes are only organised in slots of 6 weeks so that I can offer you a discount.
